Agasthiar Book Depot was founded by Sri.V.Subramaniam.The Book Shop was inaugurated by the great literary duo Sri.C.Rajagopalachari and Kalki R Krishnamurthy in the year 1944. Later Shri S. Gopalakrishnan in herited the family tradition and took over as the proprietor of Agasthiar Book Depot in succession of his father since 1976 and involved in serving the society for more than 40 years. He also pioneered in propagation of Hindi in the state of TamilNadu. and is praised as a Popular philanthropist in Trichy.
